July Reflections

pro·gress/ˈprägrəs/

Noun:  Forward or onward movement toward a destination

Synonyms: noun. advance – advancement – development – progression

verb. advance – proceed – get on – develop

The word Progress.   The first word that I thought of as I looked at the P.R. board this morning.  Every single member of our box has made Progress.  But progress towards what?  The board may say that we’ve all made advancements in our physical abilities, but what about mental progress?  Added confidence in yourself and others, friendships, personal accomplishments and defeats that all develop us as individuals are all immeasurable.  If you think that by coming here you are only becoming faster, stronger, and healthier than you are very wrong.  You are becoming better.  A better father or mother, a better son or daughter, a better friend, a better soldier, you name it.  By pushing yourself hard and always striving to set that new P.R., or reach that new goal you are developing yourself into a better person.

We made a lot of friends this month and we already miss those that have moved on.  Once again I would like to welcome Amanda, Alisa, Chris, Jessica, Rudy, Derek, Mike, Jordan, Tom, Ben and Jacob to the CrossFit Endemic family!  Rachel, you and the boys are missed around here and we all wish you the best of luck in Germany!

We as coaches get just as excited as you do when that new P.R. is set.  This month, lets set some more and continue to build those friendships.  Let’s continue getting better together.
